Job summary

Green by Nature in Hastings is seeking an apprentice level Groundsperson to help maintain our sports grounds, including mowing, rolling, fertilising, irrigation setup, weed eating, line marking and occasional spraying.

Hours: Monday to Friday 7am – 3.30pm; during Cricket camp in January, hours extend with split days to suit pitches. Benefits include a $300 annual wellness allowance after probation and a work phone for personal use.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and passion for sports turf grounds.
• Motivated and self-driven with the ability to work autonomously.
• Willing to undertake Level 3 and 4 Sports Turf qualifications.
• Full, clean NZ driver’s licence with manual driving ability.

Responsibilities

• Mow, roll, fertilise and irrigate playing surfaces.
• Perform weed eating, line marking, spraying as needed.
• Assist with covers and general grounds maintenance.
• Support cricket pitches preparation and maintenance as required.
