Job summary

Green by Nature is seeking an apprentice level Groundsperson to contribute to the care and maintenance of our sports grounds in Hastings. The role involves mowing, rolling, fertilising, irrigation setup and line marking, with flexibility to support during cricket camps.

You will work Monday to Friday 7am–3.30pm, with additional split days during cricket camp in January. A driver’s licence and willingness to pursue Level 3/4 Sports Turf qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Willing to pursue Level 3/4 Sports Turf qualifications if not already held.
• Full, clean NZ driver’s licence is essential.
• Interest and passion for sports turf grounds.

Responsibilities

• Mow, roll, fertilise and manage irrigation setup to keep pitches in top condition.
• Weed eating, line marking, spraying and other maintenance tasks as required.
• Assist with covers and relate operations during cricket seasons.
• Support with sports turf preparation and routine maintenance on playing fields.

As part of our commitment to upkeeping the grounds, we are looking for an apprentice level Groundsperson to join our team.

Hastings boasts stunning grounds that frequently host a range of different sports! This includes but is not limited to Cricket pitches, line marking, sports turf renovations.

About The Role

As the Groundsperson, you will be responsible for a range of tasks to ensure the high-quality condition of the playing grounds. Your daily duties will include mowing, rolling, fertilising, irrigation setup, weed eating, line marking, spraying, and providing assistance with the covers as needed.

• Here's what you will need to be successful:
• A strong knowledge and passion for sports turf grounds!
• Someone who is motivated and self-driven with the ability to work autonomously
• Ideally experience in preparation and maintenance of sports playing turf or be willing to do Level 3 and 4 Sports Turf qualification
• A full, clean NZ driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual is essential

Hours: Monday to Friday 7am – 3.30pm and during Cricket camp in January, this turns into a split day to allow for evening work on the cricket pitches.
