Job summary

Christchurch City Council seeks a Community Partnerships Ranger (Fixed Term) to engage with volunteers and community groups across our greenspaces. You will coordinate activities in Te Pōho-o-Tamatea and Banks Peninsula, fostering biodiversity and recreation while building lasting relationships with stakeholders.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, with a background in community engagement and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years’ experience in a similar environment.
• At least two years’ experience in environmental planning or operations, stakeholder management, community engagement or project delivery.
• A current full driver licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Be the point of contact for volunteers and community groups, primarily on the Te Poho-o-Tamatea-Port Hills and Te Pātaka o Rākaihautu-Banks Peninsula.
• Support initiatives that enhance biodiversity, recreation and amenity value across our green spaces.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with volunteers and community groups.
• Organise and provide on-the-ground support for working bees and events.
