Job summary

Safety Solutions Ltd in New Plymouth invites applications for a Graduate Process Safety Engineer. This full-time position involves joining a leading process safety consultancy with projects across New Zealand and Australia in geothermal, oil & gas, chemicals, dairy, renewables, and more.

You will participate in hazard and risk reviews, work on process safety studies and safety cases, and assist with training courses.

Qualifications

  • Be nearing completion of a Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical or process engineering, or a recent graduate.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT literacy and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and participate in hazard and risk reviews.
  • Work on process safety studies and safety cases.
  • Assist with process safety training courses.

Safety Solutions is New Zealand’s leading process safety consultancy and training provider. We are seeking a full-time Graduate Process Safety Engineer to join our team. Our consultants and engineers work efficiently with multiple engineering disciplines and clients across New Zealand and Australia in process industries including geothermal, oil and gas, chemicals, dairy, emerging technologies, renewables, and pulp and paper. Our work helps clients assess hazards and risks in their businesses and projects to reduce harm to people, assets, and the environment.

As a Graduate Process Safety Engineer, you will:

  • Prepare for and participate in hazard and risk reviews,
  • Work on projects related to process safety studies and safety cases,
  • Assist with and participate in process safety training courses
  • Travel occasionally to our clients for workshops and on-site work across New Zealand and Australia.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be studying in your final year towards a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in chemical, mechanical or process engineering (or a recent graduate),
  • Have excellent communication skills and a team player attitude,
  • Have a keen interest in developing your technical skills and advancing your career through genuine curiosity and desire to learn
  • Have strong IT literacy, proficient in Microsoft products, and solving IT issues,
  • Be self-motivated and can manage your time.
