Job summary

GHD in Wellington is seeking a Graduate Fire/Mechanical Engineer to join our two-year Graduate Development Program, commencing February 2027. You'll gain hands-on experience across fire protection design, building services and collaborative project delivery.

You'll work with multidisciplinary teams, develop technical judgment, and contribute to real projects for hospitals, schools and transport infrastructure while based in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Graduates or final year by end of 2026 in Mechanical Engineering.
• Interest in fire protection and building services.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities; proactive problem-solving.
• Willing to relocate to Wellington if needed.

Responsibilities

• Support design and documentation of fire protection systems.
• Assist with calculations, layouts and technical reports.
• Contribute to site investigations, testing and commissioning.
