Job summary

Eliot Sinclair & Partners Ltd. in Christchurch is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to kick-start your career by contributing to practical site and design projects and learning from experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, either recently completed or nearing completion.
• Genuine interest in civil infrastructure and land development.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Any relevant internship, summer work or practical experience is useful, but not essential.
• Great sense of Humour

Responsibilities

• Supporting civil infrastructure and land development projects, including roading, drainage, stormwater, wastewater and water reticulation.
• Assisting with engineering designs, technical documentation, tender documents and schedules of prices.
• Developing your understanding of design standards, project requirements and construction processes.
• Getting out on site and seeing projects progress through to completion.
• Working alongside clients, project managers and specialists from across our disciplines.
• Learning from experienced engineers and gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills develop.

Summary:

We are looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our team in Christchurch. This is an opportunity to build practical experience, learn from experienced professionals and contribute to high-quality projects across the South Island.

You may be a recent civil engineering graduate or have relevant experience from internships, summer work, or an early-career engineering role. What matters most is your attitude, willingness to learn and interest in developing a career in civil engineering.

Applicants must be currently living in New Zealand to be considered.
