Job summary

Viridian NZ is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the Auckland Finance Team. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to start their accounting career and gain hands-on experience.

You will manage accounts payable queries, process supplier invoices, reconcile statements and support month-end reporting, working closely with the Financial Accountant. A focus on accuracy and teamwork is essential, with SAP and Excel proficiency valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role.
• Experience with SAP is preferred.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable queries from the business, branches and suppliers, including freight and customs charges. Creation of purchase requisitions and orders for head office as required
• Process supplier invoices, purchase requisitions and purchase orders accurately and on time
• Reconcile supplier statements, invoices, bank transactions and business credit cards
• Assist with month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with month end reporting
• Work with the Financial Accountant to prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
• Daily reconciliation of the bank statement and clearing of non- customer receipt transactions in SAP
• Business credit card reconciliation and processing
• Assist with FBT, GST Returns and prepare weekly/monthly payment runs
• Assist in the preparation and management of the daily cash forecast
• Provide general finance support and assist with other duties as required
