Job summary

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Wellington seeks a Senior Development Adviser to deliver governance and inclusion policy and programming in the Pacific and beyond. You will shape investments, provide high-quality advice, and engage with partners to advance GEDSI objectives while upholding NZ values.

The role requires experience in international development policy, strong analysis, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on gender equality, disability inclusion and good governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in governance and inclusive development policy and programming.
• Strong analytical skills and political awareness.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to navigate diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality development advice across gender equality, disability inclusion, social inclusion, human rights and governance in the Pacific and other regions.
• Lead or contribute to design, implementation and oversight of development investments.
• Represent MFAT in bilateral, regional and multilateral engagements; build relationships with partners.
