Job summary

Ministry of Health - Manatū Hauora in Wellington seeks a Senior Advisor for the Polynesian Health Corridors Programme. This fixed-term six-month role focuses on strengthening programme delivery across Pacific partnerships, with leadership on planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

You will guide strategic development, build capability, and ensure robust processes while collaborating across government and partner organisations in New Zealand and the Pacific.

Qualifications

• Must have experience leading complex programmes or projects, including planning, risk management, monitoring and reporting.
• Fixed-term six-month opportunity, Wellington-based, full-time working rights for duration.
• Excellent written communication, with experience preparing high-quality documentation for senior leaders.
• Programme management qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, Agile or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice and leadership to support the delivery of health programmes across Polynesian partner countries.
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of programme processes, tools, and risk management frameworks.
• Support the establishment and delivery of new projects and initiatives, collaborating with teams across the Ministry.
• Coach and mentor team members to build programme management capability and strengthen delivery outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven experience leading complex programmes or projects, including planning, risk management, monitoring, and reporting.
