Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is offering a paid 12-week summer internship for engineering students from November 2026 to February 2027 in New Zealand.

You will join five interns across applications engineering, test automation, system validation, GNSS receiver integration, or electronic module design. Work with experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience in advanced timing, embedded systems, GNSS technologies, hardware/software integration, and technical documentation, with dedicated mentors

Qualifications

• Be studying or recently completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
• Pursuing studies in New Zealand in relevant fields.
• Experience or interest in Python, C#, embedded C, PCB design.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to real engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist on real product development activities with experienced engineers.
• Work on GNSS, timing, embedded systems, hardware/software integration.
• Develop and document test plans and validation procedures.
• Contribute to test automation and system validation projects.
• Participate in design and validation of GNSS receiver technologies.
