Job summary

New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade is seeking a Property Manager to join our central Wellington team. You will help manage one of New Zealand's most unique international property portfolios, ensuring assets are safe, functional and fit for purpose.

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you’ll coordinate maintenance, inspections, minor works, lease and occupancy matters, and work with offshore posts, service providers and technical specialists to deliver practical asset outcomes and

Qualifications

• Experience in property, facilities or asset management across multiple sites.
• Strong coordination skills to manage competing priorities.
• Experience with contractors or service providers to deliver services.
• Knowledge of maintenance, inspections and day-to-day property operations.
• Strong communication and proactive problem-solving.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti/Waitangi and Māori protocols beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance, inspections, minor works and property-related activities to ensure assets remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
• Build relationships with offshore posts, landlords, service providers and technical specialists to resolve issues and deliver property outcomes.
• Influence property acquisitions, disposals, lease and occupancy management activities across an assigned portfolio.
• Monitor property risks, health and safety, compliance obligations and service provider performance, ensuring issues are addressed or escalated as required.
• Maintain asset information and contribute to asset lifecycle planning, performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives
