Job summary

ITW Construction Asia Pacific seeks an Accountant to join the Shared Services Finance team supporting Australia, New Zealand and an overseas subsidiary. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, month-end close, and business performance analysis within a Fortune 300 structure.

The role is fixed-term for 6 months, with the successful candidate based in Melbourne or Auckland. You will collaborate with global finance leaders and drive process improvements across the reporting cycle.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification.
• 5+ years financial accounting experience in a complex or matrix environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, month-end processes, and financial reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to influence across functions.
• Proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close activities including balance sheet, P&L, and corporate reporting to the US.
• Maintain the general ledger, journals, reconciliations, provisions, and key accounting estimates.
• Partner with Divisional Controllers, Business Analysts and Finance leaders to analyse business performance.
• Support payroll processing, statutory compliance, and financial reporting for an overseas subsidiary.
• Assist internal and external audits and ensure compliance with ITW policies and reporting standards.
• Drive process improvements that enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and business insight.
