Job summary

Geotechnics Ltd is seeking Laboratory & Field Technicians for an 8-month Fixed Term Contract to support a large Waihi project. The role is primarily laboratory-based with regular fieldwork, carrying out testing on soil, aggregate and pavement samples and performing site investigations.

Training is provided; prior experience in a laboratory, geotechnical, civil or construction environment is advantageous. You will work across laboratory and field settings, ensuring high standards of accuracy and

Qualifications

• Must be practical, dependable and willing to learn.
• Experience in laboratory, geotechnical, civil or construction environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and test soil, aggregate and pavement samples (grading, moisture content, compaction, CBR, plasticity).
• Accurately record results and maintain lab equipment and areas.
• Conduct field testing using Scala, NDM, Clegg and shear vane equipment.
• Assist with sampling, test pits, hand augering and site investigations.
• Travel to construction sites and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Follow standards, procedures and health and safety requirements with high accuracy.
