Job summary

Geotechnics Ltd in Hawke’s Bay seeks a practical Laboratory & Field Technician to join our team. This role is primarily laboratory-based with regular fieldwork supporting geotechnical investigations and construction projects.

You will carry out accurate laboratory testing on soil, aggregate and pavement samples, as well as field tests and site investigations. Training will be provided for the right person.

Qualifications

• Must be practical, dependable and willing to learn.
• Safety-conscious with ability to follow procedures.
• Detail-oriented, accurate and well organised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and test soil, aggregate and pavement samples in the laboratory.
• Accurately record results and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Conduct field testing using geotechnical equipment and assist with site investigations.
• Travel to construction sites and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Follow standards and safety procedures to maintain quality.
