Job summary

NZTA | Waka Kotahi is seeking a Senior Geospatial Advisor to provide specialist geospatial advice and lead improvement projects across transport data and mapping. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to turn complex spatial information into clear, decision-useful insights and to improve how spatial data and systems are used.

You will collaborate across government, vendors and internal teams, coach analysts, and help develop reusable geospatial solutions while upholding data quality and

Qualifications

• Demonstrated depth of geospatial analysis, mapping, visualisation and data management.
• Translate business needs into practical geospatial products and improvements.
• Strong data management and analytical capability with geospatial focus.
• Experience using Esri technologies to deliver reliable analysis and information products.
• Ability to scope and lead geospatial initiatives through delivery.
• Proven ability to coach and share knowledge across teams.
• Experience with geospatial automation, ETL workflows or related tools would be useful.

Responsibilities

• Lead geospatial initiatives from scoping through to delivery.
• Provide specialist geospatial advice for evidence-based decisions.
• Develop reusable geospatial solutions and ensure data quality.
• Coach Geospatial Analysts and share technical knowledge.
