Job summary

Absolute IT is seeking a Technical Lead (Technical Delivery Manager) with strong GIS domain knowledge to drive geospatial initiatives for a New Zealand public sector client.

This 16–18 month fixed-term assignment is based in Wellington and involves coordinating across vendors, ICT teams and stakeholders to deliver key projects including ArcGIS cloud migration, CAD mapping enhancements and a new application.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GIS technologies, especially ArcGIS.
• Proven ability to lead complex technology projects.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud migration, especially Azure.
• Experience working in Agile, product-focused environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate technical solutions without direct hands-on development.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of geospatial initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
• Manage delivery plans, budgets, and timelines.
• Review and challenge technical solutions and vendor proposals.
• Foster Agile practices and support product delivery.
