Job summary

MedRecruit Limited is helping Gisborne Hospital recruit a Consultant General Surgeon for the North Island East Coast of New Zealand. The role covers a broad scope of practice including endoscopy, and basic vascular, urological, breast and paediatric surgery.

Applicants must be vocationally registered or eligible with the Medical Council of New Zealand and hold FRACS or an equivalent qualification; current capability to perform Breast Surgery is preferred or willingness to develop this skill.

Qualifications

• Broad scope General Surgery including endoscopy and related procedures.
• Must be vocationally registered or eligible for registration with MCNZ and hold FRACS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant General Surgery with broad scope including endoscopy and related procedures.
• Oversee medical admissions and management in a small coastal hospital setting.
