Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Hawke's Bay is seeking a General Surgeon to join our Surgical team on a part-time permanent basis. The role involves managing a wide range of general surgical conditions and participating in the on-call roster (1:10) with acute patient care.

An experienced endoscopist for upper and lower GI procedures is an advantage. Interest or post-fellowship training in Trauma or Breast would be beneficial. We value teamwork, teaching and leadership.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Council as a Specialist General Surgeon.
• Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent.
• Approved higher qualification in Surgery enabling Vocational Registration.

Responsibilities

• Manage a wide range of General Surgical conditions.
• Fully participate in the General Surgical on-call roster (1:10) and manage acute patients.
• Experience or advantage as an endoscopist for upper and lower GI procedures.
• Interest or post-fellowship training in Trauma or Breast would be beneficial.
