This is a permanent, full time position based at Rotorua Hospital, a thriving district general hospital. You will step into a dynamic role with a diverse caseload that combines general surgery and your subspecialty field of breast surgery. You will be responsible for managing a broad range of acute and elective general surgery cases. You will provide specialist breast services, including diagnostics, surgical management, and outpatient clinics to the Lakes community.
We offer a collaborative and comprehensive surgical service delivered by a small and dedicated team. Our department currently comprises Consultant Surgeons with diverse expertise, including core skills in General Surgery, subspecialty focus in Upper GI Surgery, specialist capabilities in Breast Surgery, and experienced Generalist Surgeons who manage a broad acute and elective caseload. This role involves a manageable 1:8 on-call roster, as well as an opportunity to work within a collegial and highly skilled multidisciplinary team, supported by a full team of registrars, including RACS Trainees.
