Te Waipuna Health is the General Practice arm of Te Oranganui, delivering primary healthcare services to approximately 5,300 enrolled patients across two practices. Through accessible, high-quality and affordable care, we support individuals and whānau to achieve their health and wellbeing goals while strengthening the wellbeing of our communities.

We are seeking a General Practitioner to join our Te Waipuna Health team and provide high-quality, whānau-centred primary healthcare services to our enrolled population.

In this role, you will:

  • Work within a kaupapa Māori model of care that supports health equity and positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with nurses, kaiāwhina and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to preventative, community-focused and wellbeing-oriented healthcare initiatives.
  • Support whānau to achieve their health and wellbeing goals.

Flexible FTE options are available, with full-time and part-time opportunities considered.

You will be a dedicated and community-minded General Practitioner who is committed to delivering culturally safe and whānau-centred care.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Vocational registration as a General Practitioner, or be working towards vocational registration.
  • A commitment to high-quality, equitable healthcare outcomes.
  • The ability to build strong and trusting relationships with patients, whānau and colleagues.
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, kaupapa Māori approaches to health and wellbeing.
  • A collaborative, reflective and team-focused approach to practice.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand and meet relevant professional registration requirements.
  • Supportive kaupapa Māori workplace culture with opportunities to engage in karakia, waiata, kapa haka and wānanga
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities
  • Professional supervision and access to EAP services
