Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a General Practitioner for the South Taranaki Rural Health General Practice at Hawera Hospital. The role is 0.6 FTE on a fixed-term contract for 12 months, focusing on rural health and equity in patient-centred care.

You will provide comprehensive care, promote prevention and manage chronic conditions within a supportive, multidisciplinary team committed to culturally safe care for whānau and communities in Taranaki.

Qualifications

• Vocational registration as a general practitioner (GP).
• Current practising certificate in New Zealand.
• Experience in rural or general practice with acute, complex and chronic condition management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of patients.
• Deliver preventative healthcare, health promotion and chronic disease management.
