The University of Auckland seeks experienced General Practitioners to join its Student Health and Counselling team in a permanent role. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centred primary care to a diverse student population within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Appointments are 20 minutes, and positions are available as full-time or part-time depending on your availability. The role emphasises preventative care, early intervention, and holistic support to students navigating

Competenze

• NZ medical practitioner registration with a current NZMC Practising Certificate and indemnity insurance.
• Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.
• At least two years’ experience in General Practice, ideally including primary or emergency care.
• Current CPR or Advanced Life Support certification.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Proven experience working with young adults and diverse communities.
• Confidence using clinical systems such as MedTech or similar practice management software.

Key responsibilities include:

These are permanent positions, and we are flexible with hours — we welcome applications from both full-time and part-time practitioners, depending on your availability.

You are a compassionate and experienced clinician who enjoys working with young adults and supporting diverse communities. You bring strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, and a calm, professional approach to patient care.

You will bring:

• Registration as a medical practitioner in New Zealand with a current NZMC Practising Certificate and indemnity insurance
• Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.
• At least two years’ experience in General Practice, ideally including primary or emergency care
• Current CPR or Advanced Life Support certification
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
• Proven experience working with young adults and diverse communities
• Confidence using clinical systems such as MedTech or similar practice management software

Experience working within a university or student-focused health service would be an advantage but is not essential.
