Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Lakes is seeking a General Medicine Physician with a subspecialty to join our Medicine Services Department at Rotorua Hospital on a full-time, permanent basis. Roles include in-patient hospital care with a mix of outpatient clinics and on-call duties, across several subspecialty areas.

We are looking for a General Medicine Physician with a Subspecialty to join our Medicine Services Department on a full time, permanent basis.

About the Role

Roles available involve General Medicine in-patient hospital based care, with a mix of out-patient care. We have multiple positions available, with a subspecialty interest in the following areas:

• RespiratoryGastroenterologyCardiologyFoeto-Maternal MedicineInfectious DiseasesRheumatology

Whilst you will work within your subspecialty, you will also support the wider General Medicine Service, and will be able to support patients with all types of presentations. No two days are the same in General Medicine. You will have a mix of outpatient care (ambulatory centre appointments) to inpatient ward work plus take part in the on call roster. You will be asked to undertake general medicine ward rounds on a regular basis to support service and hospital outputs.

We are looking to advance and enhance the capabilities of our existing team to support the education and development of our medical registrars and house officers.

The successful applicant will have a passion for progression and change to ensure that the service is meeting their health targets and to support the diverse community that the Lakes District services. This role provides the opportunity to broaden your knowledge through being adaptable and engaged.

The role will comprise of off-ward responsibilities where elective work is undertaken, and on-ward responsibilities managing patients.
