We are looking for physicians to provide acute medical services within Northland; these are a combination of new and replacement roles.

The role will be focused on acute medicine which will include Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), hot clinics and short stay wards, Emergency Department and managing inpatients. The on-call roster means working some weekends per year with a rostered day off after weekend work.
Our department has a family feel with a positive culture, although a busy and challenging environment everyone looks after each other and has a real passion for what they do and why they do it. Teaching and mentoring our 28 medical registrars is an important part of our work. We want candidates who are team players committed to improving and developing services to meet the population need with a passion for the delivery of equitable healthcare.
As well as a warm climate, the winterless north offers excellent schools; affordable housing and scenic coastal areas offering a range of recreational activities. We are just a two hours' drive or 25‑minute flight from the international hub of Auckland.
To be considered you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of NewZealand (MCNZ) in an Internal Medicine Vocational scope of practice. If you are currently overseas / not yet registered, we can assist you with the application process to obtain MCNZ registration.
