Job summary

Probeauty, a Christchurch-based professional beauty and aesthetics business, seeks an experienced General Manager to lead day-to-day operations and drive performance. Working closely with owners, you will turn strategy into clear priorities, oversee people, operations, finance, sales and marketing, systems and technology.

You will be a strong operator and people leader, capable of moving between strategic thinking and practical execution, with experience in SMEs.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in an SME or fast-moving environment.
• Experience in beauty/aesthetics/healthcare or related sectors is advantageous.
• Ability to translate strategy into priorities and executable plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and overall performance of Probeauty.

Probeauty is a successful Christchurch-based business operating in the professional beauty and aesthetics sector. With an established customer base, strong brands and a highly engaged team, the business is entering its next stage of development.

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the business.

This isn't a corporate GM role. Probeauty is a hands-on SME where people work closely together, decisions are made quickly and leaders need to be equally comfortable setting priorities, coaching a manager, reviewing performance or getting involved when something simply needs to get done.

The opportunity

Working closely with the owners, you will turn strategic direction into clear priorities, disciplined execution and measurable business performance. You will have broad responsibility across people, operations, financial performance, sales and marketing oversight, systems and technology.

You will:

• Lead the day-to-day operation and overall performance of Probeauty.
• Translate strategy into annual plans, priorities, KPIs and action.
• Own financial and commercial performance, including revenue, margin, inventory and profitability.
• Support and challenge sales performance and help develop key customer, supplier and brand relationships.
• Coach and develop senior team members, building greater confidence, accountability and decision-making capability.
• Strengthen operating rhythms, processes and cross-functional accountability.
• Champion the effective use of technology, CRM, automation and business data.
• Ensure standards, processes and SOPs are embedded and consistently followed.
• Identify practical opportunities to improve business performance and customer value.
• Protect and strengthen the culture that has helped make Probeauty successful.

About you

We are looking for a strong operator and people leader rather than someone who wants to lead from a distance. You will ideally bring senior leadership experience from an SME or similarly fast-moving environment, with broad commercial exposure and the ability to move comfortably between strategic thinking and practical execution.

Experience in beauty, aesthetics, healthcare, medical devices, distribution or another aligned sector would be advantageous, but it isn't essential. What matters more is your ability to understand the business, build trust and get things moving.
