Job summary

Advanced Personnel Services – Christchurch, South Island is seeking experienced Civil Labourers for upcoming projects across the Christchurch region. If you are physically fit, safety-conscious and ready to get stuck in, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll carry out civil construction and general labouring duties, including site prep, concreting work, and assisting with concrete prep, pouring, finishing and steel fixing. You’ll follow plans and support tradespeople on site.

Qualifications

• Previous civil construction, concreting or general labouring experience.
• Strong physical fitness and ability to perform manual work.
• NZ resident/citizen or valid NZ Work Visa.
• Reliability and willingness to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with concrete preparation, pouring, spreading, finishing, steel fixing and steel tying.
• Safely operate hand and power tools and basic machinery.
• Assist with site set-up, material preparation, and moving/loading materials.

• Support tradespeople, supervisors and other team members on site.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment while following all health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out a range of civil construction and general labouring duties, including site preparation and concreting work

Assist with concrete preparation, pouring, spreading, finishing, steel fixing and steel tying

Safely operate hand and power tools and basic machinery

Assist with site set-up, material preparation, and moving/loading materials as required

Follow instructions, plans, drawings and specifications

Support tradespeople, supervisors and other team members on site

Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment while following all health and safety procedures

What You’ll Bring

Previous civil construction, concreting or general labouring experience

Strong physical fitness and the ability to carry out manual and active work

A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to work as part of a team

Reliability and commitment to getting the job done

Reliable transport to and from site

A current WTR (Wheels, Tracks and Rollers) endorsement would be an advantage

The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal conviction check

Be a NZ Resident/Citizen or currently hold a valid NZ Work Visa
