Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora - Waikato is seeking a Specialist Gastroenterologist on a part-time contract (0.6–1.0 FTE) based at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton. The role involves clinics, endoscopy, ward duties and on-call responsibilities, with opportunities for teaching and research.

We welcome subspecialty interest in hepatology alongside general gastroenterology. The salary aligns with the ASMS SECA framework and includes KiwiSaver, shift allowances, professional development and wellness

Qualifications

• Possess specific clinical skills in endoscopic procedures essential.
• Vocationally registered with the New Zealand Medical Council (or have qualifications comparable to NZ).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to clinics, endoscopy and ward duties, and participate in the on-call roster.
• Engage in teaching, ongoing medical education and quality improvement initiatives.
