Job summary

Ryman Healthcare is seeking a Gardener for The Richard Hadlee Retirement Village in Belfast, Christchurch. This full-time fixed-term role runs Monday to Friday, 0800-1630, from 28th September 2026 to 28th March 2027. You will nurture our resort-style gardens for residents, families and staff, ensuring beauty and safety.

Ideal candidates have gardening experience, strong attention to detail and excellent communication. NZ work rights are required; horticultural qualifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Gardener/Landscaper role.
• Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• A reliable, friendly and professional manner.
• Horticultural qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain gardens in a resort-style setting for residents, families and staff.
• Service grounds to ensure great appearance and safety of all areas.
• Manage bowling green, water features, residential and shared areas for variety.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and provide support.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our supportive team at Richard Hadlee Retirement Village in Belfast, Christchurch as a Gardener. This is a Full Time, Fixed Term position working Monday - Friday 0800-1630. Starting 28th September to 2026 to 28th March 2027.

In this role you will:

• Work in a team focused on maintaining our beautiful gardens in our resort style setting for our residents, their families and our staff to enjoy
• Service the grounds and gardens to ensure a great appearance and ensure safety of all the grounds area
• Enjoy lots of variety with a bowling green, water features, residential and shared areas
• Work closely with, and support your colleagues

About You

To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have:
