Job summary

Ramen The Base in Hamilton is seeking several Asian Cuisine Cooks to join the team on a full-time basis, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. The main duty is to prepare, season and cook Asian cuisine to a high standard to support the business.

Responsibilities include inspecting ingredients, monitoring temperatures, presenting dishes, and ensuring dietary requirements are met. Opportunity to assist with menu planning and staff training is available.

Qualifications

• At least two years of relevant work experience.
• Good work attitude and good communication skills.
• Strong motivation and physical fitness.
• Quality workmanship and an eye for detail.
• Strong dedication to health and workplace safety.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with other team members.

Responsibilities

• Inspect ingredients to ensure quality and standards.
• Monitor oven and cooking temperatures for safe cooking.
• Prepare, cook and present Asian cuisine per recipes.
• Add seasonings during cooking to enhance taste.
• Portion and plate food with sauces and garnishes.
• Store food in temperature-controlled environments.
• Prepare meals meeting dietary requirements (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.).
• May assist with menu planning and estimating food supply.
• May train and mentor kitchen staff and apprentices.
