Jora New Zealand is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Developer in Napier, Hawke's Bay. You will work across the entire technology stack to design, build, deploy, and maintain business-critical applications with real impact.

Responsibilities include building scalable software, optimising SQL queries, and containerising with Docker. You will collaborate with stakeholders, contribute to CI/CD, and help manage cloud and on-premise infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Solid working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience building front-end applications with React or similar frameworks.
• Proven experience developing with Node.js and backend services.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

We're looking for an experienced Full Stack Software Developer to join our growing technology team in Napier.

This is an exciting opportunity for a developer who enjoys working across the entire technology stack, from database design and backend services through to modern user interfaces and infrastructure. You'll play a key role in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining business-critical applications while helping shape the future of our technology environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Full Stack Software Developer, you will:

Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications from database through to user interface

Build clean, scalable, and maintainable software solutions

Develop and optimise SQL-based data structures and queries

Design, build, and support services running on Node.js

Contribute to React-based front-end applications and user experiences

Containerise and deploy applications using Docker

Develop integrations and messaging solutions using RabbitMQ

Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes

Assist with the management of cloud and on-premise infrastructure

Configure and maintain Cloudflare and Nginx environments

Support Windows and Ubuntu server environments

Participate in code reviews and collaborative development using Git

Work closely with stakeholders to deliver practical and innovative technology solutions

What You'll Bring

Solid working knowledge of SQL and relational databases

Proven experience developing with Node.js

Experience building front-end applications with React or similar frameworks

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

Docker and containerised application deployment

RabbitMQ or other messaging platforms

Jenkins or similar CI/CD tooling

Vultr, Azure, or other cloud platforms

Cloudflare and Nginx administration

Windows and Ubuntu server management

Git version control and collaborative development workflows

API and web services development and integration

Infrastructure automation and DevOps practices
