Job summary

Objective Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Planning & Building Solutions team in Wellington. You will help evolve our AWS-hosted SaaS platform, work across the full technology stack, and contribute to new features, modernising legacy components, and tackling complex challenges.

You will join a collaborative, cross-functional team where quality, curiosity and continuous improvement are valued, reporting to the Development Manager as an individual contributor.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience in full-stack software development.
• Strong experience with TypeScript.
• Experience with SQL Server, relational databases and RESTful APIs.
• Exposure to AWS or another cloud platform.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and automated testing.
• A practical understanding of scalable and maintainable software design.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test new product features.
• Build and maintain scalable systems, APIs and web applications.
• Refactor legacy code to improve performance and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot product and customer issues.
• Write clean, reliable and well-tested code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, product owners and technical writers.
• Help improve our development, testing and delivery processes.
