Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Auckland is seeking a hands-on Leading Hand to join our civil construction team. You’ll support the Foreperson, operate machinery, and keep daily work flowing on site.

You’ll bring a valid Class 2 licence with W, T and R endorsements, plus site experience, safety mindset, and the ability to guide less experienced crew members. We offer ongoing training, KiwiSaver contributions, and a supportive team culture that backs good work.

Qualifications

• Current Class 2 licence and W, T, R endorsements.
• Experience working on civil or construction sites, including traffic management requirements.
• STMS Level 1 and First Aid certification preferred.
• A practical mindset and confidence with hands-on, outdoor work in varying conditions.
• A reliable, proactive, team-focused attitude and pride in doing good work.

Responsibilities

• Support daily workflow on site and help the team deliver work safely, on time, and to a high standard.
• Complete labouring and machine operating tasks, including equipment checks, material handling, and maintaining a clean and tidy site.
• Take part in pre-starts, understand hazards and controls, and follow all safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Operate machinery and tools safely and only when trained, competent and licensed to do so.
• Help guide less experienced team members and step into the Foreperson's role when required.
