Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Dunedin is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Foreperson to lead on-site operations, coordinate crews, plant, and subcontractors while delivering work to programme and high quality standards.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in civil construction, hold a Class 1 license (Class 2 with WTR a bonus), and demonstrate clear communication, safety focus, and a collaborative approach on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years' civil construction experience across a range of projects
• Class 1 licence required; Class 2 with WTR endorsements preferable
• Hands-on experience in bridge building, piling, temporary works, retaining structures, concrete formwork/finishing
• Strong communication, collaborative approach and ability to set expectations and support team members
• Safety-first mindset with pride in workmanship and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Lead site crews and coordinate daily works across labour, plant, subcontractors and suppliers
• Build and maintain a safe work environment for your team, subcontractors and the public
• Run pre-starts, manage hazards, and ensure safety, quality and environmental processes are followed
• Deliver work to programme and specification with focus on quality and productivity
• Complete site documentation including job sheets, timesheets, inspections, plant usage records and quality checklists
