Job summary

Westpac New Zealand Ltd. seeks a capable web developer to innovate, build, test, and deploy software within project and support contexts. You will quickly master the existing framework and tech stack, engaging in requirement analysis, designing features, and delivering with high quality.

Role focuses on React, TypeScript, JavaScript with a strong UX/UI emphasis, and a solid grasp of CI/CD practices. Flexible, collaborative environment with Agile practices and documentation upkeep.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years substantial web development experience in React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge across service layer; affinity with UX/UI and attention to detail.
• Experience with building a product and delivering features.
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, Angular, Redux, Redux‑Saga, SASS, HTML5, Jest, React‑Testing‑Library, Webpack, Docker, Jenkins, Git & Bitbucket, Selenium, Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines is beneficial.
• Experience with functional programming.

Responsibilities

• Innovate, develop, test, and implement new software solutions within project and support/maintenance capacities.
• Master the current framework and tech stack quickly.
• Actively engage in requirement analysis discussions and propose technical solutions.
• Design and develop new product features with minimum defects.
• Contribute to component library and deliver sprint commitments on time.
• Participate in Agile software development practices and maintain documentation.
• Respond to production incidents by troubleshooting and providing solutions.
