Job summary

Service Foods in Christchurch is seeking team members for the Produce Processing day team. You will help prepare, process, and pack fresh vegetables and fruits according to customer orders, in a busy, dynamic environment.

The role requires prior experience in fresh produce or warehousing/processing, the ability to work in a cold setting, and physical fitness for lifting. Training on safety protocols is provided and applicants should have reliable transport and be flexible with hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in Fresh Produce industry or warehousing/processing roles.
• Ability to work in a cold environment.
• Physically fit and strong; some heavy lifting is involved.
• Good knife-handling skills are beneficial.
• Intermediate literacy and numeracy; basic knowledge of ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Clean, wash, and process fresh produce.
• Grade, cut, dice, and peel vegetables and fruits.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
• Monitor product quality before packaging by inspecting.
• Operate machines to peel, core, slice, and dice produce.
• Frequent use of processing machinery; ensure safety around equipment.
• Vacuum pack and label prepared produce.
• Clean equipment, pumps, hoses, storage tanks, and work area.
• Strictly adhere to food safety standards and HS protocols.
