CARTERS Wellington Frame & Truss Manufacturing is seeking a detail‑oriented Frame & Truss Detailer to design wall frames and roof trusses for residential and commercial projects, turning plans into production‑ready drawings.

You’ll bring at least 3 years of detailing experience, plus proficiency in MiTek 20/20 or Sapphire, and a solid understanding of timber engineering, residential and commercial construction techniques, with strong communication across internal teams and customers.

This is a great opportunity to be part of the team as we step into a new facility and shape what comes next. We’re flexible on location, too. This role can be based at our CARTERS Palmerston North branch.

About the role

As a Frame & Truss Detailer, you’ll detail wall frames and roof trusses across a real mix of residential and commercial projects, so no two weeks look the same. You’ll work closely with our Account Managers, Support Staff, Branch Network and external customers, turning plans into efficient, accurate designs ready for production.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating wall frame and roof truss drawings for production using industry-leading software, with a focus on efficient design and manufacture
• Building strong working relationships with customers by providing expert advice, practical support and exceptional service
• Managing your workload and priorities to deliver high-quality work on deadline

About you

You’re a detail-focused, productive professional who knows how to prioritise and loves being part of a team. You’ll bring:

• At least 3 years’ detailing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in MiTek 20/20 or Sapphire (MiTek 101, 201 and 301 exams desirable but not essential)
• Experience or qualifications in the construction industry, with a good understanding of residential and commercial construction techniques
• Solid knowledge of residential construction, timber grades and basic timber engineering
• Strong communication skills, as you’ll work with a wide range of internal stakeholders and customers every day
