Job summary

SourceIn is building an AI-powered wearable platform and seeks a Founding Software Engineer to join remotely (NZ overlap). You’ll help build the initial product end-to-end, working directly with the founder to shape technical foundations.

You’ll ship MVPs, prototype quickly, and own frontend, backend, integrations, and infrastructure, with equity and high ownership for the right hire.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping MVPs or early‑stage products.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and moving fast without heavy process.
• Independent problem-solver who doesn’t need hand‑holding.
• Clear communicator — direct, proactive, and practical.
• 3–7+ years of hands‑on engineering experience (or equivalent depth).
• Startup, scale‑up, or solo‑builder experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Build the first version of a wearable‑connected software platform.
• Develop an early MVP web/laptop app that configures and syncs with the device.
• Work across frontend, backend, integrations, and infrastructure.
• Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on product ideas.
• Help turn early concepts into a stable, demo‑ready product.
• Act with a founder mindset: ownership, prioritisation, and pragmatic decision‑making.
