Job summary

Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is seeking an educator to join our NZ2863 Study and Employment Pathways Level 3 programme at the Mokoia campus, starting Semester 1, 2027. The role supports adult learners' academic, vocational, and personal development.

You will teach ākonga daily, provide pastoral care, handle marking and admin tasks, and contribute to reporting and information gathering as required. Collaboration with the Foundation team and Programme Manager Foundation is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to teach foundational academic skills including reading and writing.
• Competence in basic numeracy teaching.
• Passion for Foundation akonga and their success in education.
• Formal teaching qualification preferred; training may be provided for suitable untrained applicants.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.
• Ability to engage and motivate youth.
• Commitment to education success.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day teaching of ākonga.
• Pastoral care responsibilities relevant to ākonga in the programme.
• Marking and administrative responsibilities.
• Reporting and information gathering as required.
