Job summary

Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology in Rotorua seeks an Academic Staff Member – Nursing to teach theory and support ākonga in clinical settings across years two and three of the Bachelor of Nursing.

You will provide clinical supervision, assess learning, and collaborate with clinical partners, while promoting learner success, equity, and high-quality education. The role is permanent, part-time (0.6 FTE) with responsibilities across teaching, marking, and academic administration.

Qualifications

• Registration as a nurse in NZ, with a master's degree (or working towards), and ideally a tertiary teaching qualification.
• Recent nursing experience with a minimum of three years post registration experience.
• Strong clinical teaching or mentoring capability.
• Excellent communication and relationship skills.
• Commitment to learner success and equity outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching, assessment and learning activities.
• Provide clinical supervision and practicum support.
• Support ākonga achievement and pastoral care.
• Undertake marking and academic administration.
