Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is seeking an Academic Staff Member for Foundation Level 3 at the Mokoia campus to commence Semester 1, 2027. The role focuses on delivering study and employment pathways, building academic skills, and supporting learners toward further education and employment opportunities.

You will be part of a dedicated Foundation team, reporting to the Programme Manager Foundation, with emphasis on supporting learner success and effective classroom practice.

• A rounded skill set in reading and writing with basic numeracy teaching.
• Passion for Foundation akonga (learners) and their education success.
• Formal teaching qualification preferred (training may be provided for suitable untrained applicants).
• Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.
• Ability to engage and motivate youth.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Our Foundation Team are seeking a talented educator to be a tutor for our NZ2863 Study and Employment Pathways Level 3 programme at our Mokoia campus, to begin Semester 1, 2027.

The programme is designed to prepare adult learners for further education and employment opportunities, by building academic skill, vocational direction and personal confidence.

This role is part of the wider Foundation team at Toi Ohomai, and reports to the Programme Manager Foundation.

• Day to day teaching of ākonga
• Pastoral care responsibilities relevant to ākonga in the programme
• Marking and administrative responsibilities
• Reporting and information gathering as required

You bring:
