Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Foundation Phase Teacher for a well-established primary school in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will deliver engaging lessons for Grades R-3, align with the CAPS framework, and foster a love of learning in a nurturing classroom.

You will assess progress, maintain records, collaborate with colleagues, and participate in ongoing professional development. The role is on-site, with opportunities for growth within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education (Foundation Phase specialization) or equivalent.
• Proven registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
• Extensive experience teaching Foundation Phase in a primary school.
• Strong knowledge of the CAPS Foundation Phase curriculum.
• Good understanding of child development and early learning strategies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Foundation Phase lessons (Grades R-3) per CAPS.
• Develop age-appropriate activities promoting holistic development.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Assess and monitor progress with formative and summative methods.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress.
• Foster relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Manage classroom behavior with clear routines.
• Collaborate on curriculum development and school events.
• Ensure well-organised, resourced learning spaces.
