Job summary

Liftrucks New Zealand Limited – Auckland, North Island, is looking for an experienced Forklift Planned Maintenance Technician to join our team.

The successful applicant will work on a range of equipment including IC and electric forklifts and heavy machinery, performing planned servicing, inspections and repairs in both workshop and customer-site environments to keep fleets operating safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of forklift technician or similar mechanical trade experience.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical skills.
• Full NZ driver’s licence and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and planned maintenance on forklifts and equipment.
• Servicing IC and electric forklifts.
• Carrying out inspections and identifying potential issues before major faults.
• Some mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Hydraulic servicing and repairs.
• Electrical basic fault finding and repairs.
• Working on heavy machinery when required.
• Attending customer sites to carry out servicing and repairs.
• Completing service and inspection documentation accurately.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

We are looking for an experienced Forklift Planned Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful applicant will have a strong mechanical background and be confident working on a range of equipment, including internal combustion (IC) forklifts, electric forklifts and, when required, heavy machinery. The role will involve both workshop and customer-site work, carrying out planned servicing, inspections and repairs while ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled servicing and planned maintenance on forklifts and equipment
• Servicing IC and electric forklifts
• Carrying out inspections and identifying potential issues before they become major faults
• Some mechanical and fault finding and repairs
• Hydraulic servicing repairs
• Electrical basic fault finding and repairs
• Working on heavy machinery when required

• Completing the appropriate service and inspection documentation accurately
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

About you

• At least 3 years' experience working as a forklift technician, heavy equipment technician or in a similar mechanical trade
• Good mechanical, hydraulic and electrical skills
• Comfortable working independently at customer sites
• Takes pride in producing quality workmanship
• Good attention to detail and completes paperwork/service reports correctly
• Reliable, organised and able to manage daily workload
• Full NZ driver's licence
• Committed to working safely and following company procedures
