CHEP is hiring a Service Centre Assistant in Christchurch for the afternoon shift. This hands-on role suits someone with forklift experience who enjoys being part of a team and seeing the daily results of their work.

You will safely operate a forklift, follow safety procedures, and contribute to production targets while maintaining high quality. There is also potential to learn pallet repair, bin/crate wash, and to step into leadership roles in a safety-first environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts and ideally holds a current F endorsement and OSH Forklift licence.
• Holds a full NZ drivers licence (essential).
• Experience with using power tools.
• Cross-skill and learn all operations of the Service Centre.
• Values safety and teamwork.
• Has a positive attitude and reliable work ethic.
• Is physically fit and comfortable working on your feet.
• Has experience in a production/factory environment.
• Can meet production targets while maintaining safety and quality.
• Can pass a Ministry of Justice criminal history check and pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening).
• Has the right to work in New Zealand (please note we are unable to sponsor applicants at this time).

Responsabilités

• Safely operating a forklift to move product around our yard, unloading and loading pallets on and off trucks
• Contributing to a safe workplace by following safety procedures
• Working towards production targets while maintaining high quality standards
• There is also the opportunity to learn pallet repair, bin and crate wash, to cover for staff shortages on occasion
