Job summary

Adaptalift Group seeks a skilled Forklift / Service Technician to service and repair a range of materials handling equipment across Hamilton. The role covers in-field and workshop-based work, with a provided van and a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

You will perform scheduled servicing, breakdowns and pre-delivery inspections, logging work via tablet, and communicating findings to customers. A strong mechanical background and NZ license are essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification with mechanical experience (forklift, heavy vehicle, or related equipment).
• Strong diagnostics and servicing skills in hydraulics, electrics, or mechanical systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• NZ driver’s licence and willingness to join a rotating on-call roster.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing, breakdowns, and pre-delivery inspections on forklifts and equipment.
• Use tablet-based system to log, complete, and close jobs with accurate records.
• Communicate clearly with customers, explaining work done and identifying any additional repair needs.
• Maintain van stock, tools, and cleanliness, while planning daily activities for efficiency.
