Higgins Bay of Plenty in Mount Maunganui is seeking a Foreperson to lead road maintenance crews within our Maintenance Division. You’ll work with the Supervisor to turn work programmes into well-organised jobs on the ground, on site with your crew, keeping progress safe, efficient and up to standard.

You'll supervise cyclic and heavy maintenance crews, coordinate labour, plant and subcontractors, run pre-starts and toolbox talks, and ensure QA and documentation are maintained.

Qualifications

• 3+ years road construction experience with supervisory duties.
• Valid WTR and Class 1-4 licences.
• Strong knowledge of road maintenance, QA, health and safety, and environmental requirements.
• Experience using RAMM/AWM; strong planning and record-keeping.
• Effective communication and people leadership.

Description

We’re looking for a Foreperson to join our Higgins Bay of Plenty team, based in Mount Maunganui within our Maintenance Division.

As a Foreperson, you’ll work alongside the Supervisor to coordinate the day-to-day activities of our road maintenance crews and subcontractors, turning work programmes into well-organised jobs on the ground. You’ll be out on site with your crew, keeping work moving safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Leading cyclic and heavy maintenance crews on site and allocating daily tasks.
• Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to keep work on track.
• Running pre-starts and toolbox meetings and setting clear expectations for the day.
• Monitoring workmanship and completing site QA, including ITPs, hold points and checklists.
• Keeping accurate records including timesheets, foreperson sheets, plant records and site documentation.
• Supporting incident response and after-hours or rostered duties when required.

What You’ll Have

• At least 3 years’ road construction experience, including supervisory experience.
• Appropriate WTR and Class 1-4 licences.
• Good working knowledge of road maintenance, QA, health and safety and environmental requirements.
• Experience using RAMM/AWM, along with strong planning, organisation and record‑keeping skills.
• Confident communication and people leadership skills
