Job summary

Estia Health is seeking a dedicated kitchen assistant to support daily meal preparation and service for residents. You will prepare food, assist with menu changes, and help keep our facilities clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen work, ideally in aged care.
• Completion of Basic Food Handling Course.
• Strong time management and planning skills.
• Desire to make a difference in people’s lives.

Responsibilities

• Prepping food and drinks for residents.
• Cleaning duties including dishes and surfaces.
• Updating menus in collaboration with team and residents.
• Maintaining records as part of the Food Safety Program.
• Staying active and on your feet during shifts.

About the Role

You'll wake up each morning wanting to see people enjoy food as much as you do.

Here's what a typical day involves:

• Prepping food and drink
• Cleaning (including dishes) - you bring a sparkle to the place in more ways than one
• Changing up the menu. You'll work with our team and residents to create exciting meals that cater to every individual
• Keeping records as part of our Food Safety Program
• Being active and on your feet for most of your shift

You’ll be a real team player who has:

• A real desire to make a difference in people's lives
• Experience in kitchen work (aged care is a bonus)
• Great time management and planning skills
• Completed the Basic Food Handling Course
