About the Role

Our client, a dynamic force in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking an experienced and strategic FMCG Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize their operations in the Queenstown, Eastern Cape region. This senior role is critical for managing the end-to-end supply chain, including procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. You will lead a dedicated team, implement best practices, and leverage technology to drive operational excellence and support the company's growth objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of supply chain principles, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in managing complex operations within the FMCG industry. This position involves a hybrid work model, combining strategic oversight and team management with flexibility. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our client's products reach consumers seamlessly and efficiently throughout the region. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies to align with business objectives, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and service excellence.
• Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including demand planning, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
• Manage and optimise relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and other third-party partners.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Implement and manage supply chain technologies and systems to enhance visibility, traceability, and efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to address any deviations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements throughout the supply chain.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production departments to ensure alignment and responsiveness to market demands.
• Manage budgets and financial performance for the supply chain operations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a significant portion within the FMCG industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chain operations and driving significant cost savings.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• In-depth knowledge of supply chain planning, inventory management, logistics, and warehousing best practices.
• Proficiency in supply chain software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site responsibilities with remote strategic work.
• Willingness to travel within the Eastern Cape and potentially beyond as required.
