Kiwi Pollen is seeking a leadership role for someone who enjoys working outdoors and motivating a team during the kiwifruit season. You will manage a team of flower pickers across Bay of Plenty orchards and report to the office on orchard conditions.

Kiwi Pollen is a specialist, family-run pollination agritech, operating since 1989 based in Te Puke. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, motivating a team, and making a real difference during the kiwifruit season.. The successful candidate will be looking after a team of flower pickers working in various kiwifruit orchards in the Bay of Plenty.
Reporting to the office the current orchard situation regarding flowering stage
Liaise directly with growers to commence picking
Supervision of contractors to ensure Kiwi Pollens high-quality standards are being met
Communicate with contractors to ensure key details are accurate
Train and support pickers when quality standards need impoving
All flowers picked meet Kiwi Pollen’s high-quality standards
Quality issues are swiftly addressed
Create and maintain a good relationship with growers & contractors
Contribute to the industry-wide recognition of Kiwi Pollen as a trustworthy and competent business with whom the market wishes to have a relationship.
Experience in the kiwifruit industry (preferred)
Strong time management and organisational skills
Excellent communication and diplomacy with diverse team members
Competence with MS Office and mobile apps
A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality
Problem-solving and logistics intelligence
A positive, outgoing attitude with a sense of humour
End of October – Mid November – Maximum of 6 days per week
The hours for this role vary depending on seasonal demand. During peak periods, availability to work up to six days per week for one to two weeks may be required. Outside of these periods, hours may reduce to shorter days and fewer days per week. This role is well suited to someone seeking flexible part-time employment and comfortable with variable hours.
