Job summary

Access Community Health is seeking Experienced Support Workers for Wellington. You will provide in-home, person-centred care for individuals with high‑risk needs, including medication support and mobility assistance, across rotating schedules. Training is provided, with development pathways and a focus on cultural safety.

Roles offer flexible hours to fit study or family, with weekend allowances and a structured roster. A driver’s license, NZ work rights, and hoist experience are desirable.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience
• Spinal injury experience
• Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist
• Experience administering prescribed medication
• Love working with people and helping them thrive
• Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person
• Have experience in caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or other people‑facing roles
• Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds
• Intuitive and responsive to people’s needs
• Own a smartphone
• Have the right to work in New Zealand
• Full/restricted driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home support with daily living activities for high-needs clients
• Deliver safe, respectful, person-centred care
• Administer prescribed medications as required
• Support clients with mobility, falls prevention, and hoist use
• Respect clients’ culture, values, routines and boundaries
