Job summary

New Zealand Health Group is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist individuals in Cambridge with daily activities, personal care, and community engagement.

The role offers flexible rostering with the potential for overnight shifts and weekend work. Prior healthcare experience is preferred, and a valid NZ driver’s license is essential. NZ residency or valid work permit is required, and training toward NZQA Health & Wellbeing is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including disability experience and behavioural support.
• Full driver’s license is essential.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
• Empathy, respect and cultural awareness are important.
• NZ Resident/Citizen or valid NZ work permit required.

Responsibilities

• Support people in daily life activities such as meals, personal cares, and community activities.
• Provide 24/7 support with rostering and potential sleepover shifts.
• Work across Cambridge Residential Services with flexible rosters and travel as needed.
• Attend training and development opportunities to maintain high-quality care.
